The Deep Rio Pueblo Gorge (The Slide Trail) 30×40

Oil on Canvas, The Deep Rio Pueblo Gorge reflects the deep rich colors and light during fall. This was not an easy painting for me to paint. The wind howled the whole afternoon, breaking my easel, blowing dirt, the wind scrambling my brain thoughts, miss-hits with my brush and I admit to a lot of swearing. I can disclose there is a fine layer of dirt in the painting which initially made me so angry. When I was able to finish the piece quietly and clearly, I found… I love the dirt, it makes that day so worth the ‘pain’…  Beautiful Northern NM, A Keeper.
