The Animas River, Durango CO 36×48

Oil on Canvas, Too windy to set up an easel, I painted sitting on granite rock (my bum got real numb), looking through a fence and propped against a tree, this gorgeous view made me work for it! Looking downriver from Bakers Bridge, in Durango, CO. (You know, the bridge where Paul Newman & Robert Redford jumped off in Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid) FYI all the Durango kids still jump off the bridge… I love looking at the deep backlitness and colors of this piece.
