Outstanding in Her Field
The term was coined by my best friend when I would send her pictures of some painting I was working on in some random field in Northern New Mexico. She is very sharp, great sense of humor and observational. I love the term and it illustrates what I strive for on the canvas and in life. I am usually painting in the zone, yet I try to remember to step back and record a moment during the plein air painting outing. (Setting up videos currently eludes me, as that takes so much precious out door painting time) Often the light has faded from when I started the piece, still, I love capturing an image of what made me to stop and paint that glorious view in the first place. I also love when someone comes upon me while working and we catch that moment too! Oh and sometimes, I am outstanding in my garage, in front of my studio easels, in a booth at a show or on top of a mountain…Enjoy these photos taken over the years of my work, myself and simply, outstanding in her field…
